Rang and Pixels went for a trip to Nagaon Beach and I loved the atmosphere, the water sports and the fun that we had. It has a forest great for photography, the colours that the place offered really contributed to the pictures. The boat alone in the sea devoid of human activity was a great frame I wanted to capture. I finaly used it as a cover picture after typo.

Cut the boat into a new layer (magnetic lasso) and put the text layer behind it.
For a 3D feel I tried shadow with a little darker shade.

This design is meant to look like an arrow lodged into the Bull's Eye. Didn't succeed very well.
I had this design in my mind for a long time now. Inspired from the line art by Vikrant, I finally made something.

Tools : Adobe Photoshop CS5 -> Pen tool -> Stroke/Fill
Method : Sketch on paper -> Scan & Import -> Trace

8th October, the day of painting, beautiful weather, dancing in the rain, chai and pakodas, burning men, dragons, chalks, madness, night out and maddu !!
Wow. One of the days you always cherish for the rest of your life. Apart from some great artworks and photographs, something I worked on that night was Line Art inspired by Vikrant.

It doesn't look much in the photograph, but I tried a lot to instill meaning into every small element that I drew.

Sigh. I just fall in love with painting and water colours each time I see this.
The colours look so bright, vibrant and that black coloured line art in the center. Takes my breath away.

Thats just too much bragging for your own artwork, but I don't know, I find so much pride in finally overcoming my prejudices and fears to take up a brush and create something lovely with wet medium.

How did I do it :
- Sketched the headphones kept in front of me using a pencil and then by Pilot pen
- You take some water and spread it on the paper using a brush, then take some water colour and simply let it go on the water. Colour will spread in a natural fashion and you get rid of the brush strokes.
- The paper I was using was a bit too absorbent and i had to blow the water outwards to avoid a brush-stroke-solid-fill effect. What I got is below.

Just choose the colours right and enjoy :)

I had a really great experience designing the TheatreFest 2011-12's creatives. Working with Ayush Jain, getting involved in dramatics club, learning about plays, how the decision of inviting them is made. I got to know the names of some great theatre personalities and also meet some of them.
Really wow.
Some of the below designs are very close to the heart. These have been designed with help of Saloni Mehta and I dont take full credit.

Designs Dated around September 2011.

At that point in time I was into using simple text based logos. And they turned out pretty well.
Above are some font/logo options for THEATERFEST. We finalised the second one
Final Logo unit

Flex : 3 feet X 2 feet
I wanted to give the feel of a theater stage in the top right. The two faces are not to my liking but had to be added ..

And this.. This is the final design for a huge flex 9 feet X 6 feet

There were a lot more designs, some for tshirts, invites, publicity posters. Will add them someday..

You can check more designs for theaterfest at their facebook page
Saw the Freshizza group dance this year on Sep 23rd and was reminded of the time when I was there as a freshie myself. How our hostel had won the competition and how my friends who participated in it are still remembered through that one dance competition.

For all the friends who took this hobby forward, and made their name in dance.

Dedicated to none other than Samyak, who so sportingly took the role of a babe and is still known as the best one around. A lot of seniors have bent their knees to see him perform one more time.
I am starting with putting all my old artworks. One post a day, hoping to eventually reach real time.

This post is about the expressive typography that I did as a part of an IDC course project. Not going to include any explanation, after all the letters are supposed to be expressive by themselves
