Logo Designing : TheaterFest 2012-13

TheatreFest. I have much love for this event, as I have iterated in my earlier post also. They held a competition to design a logo which they were missing for a long time now. I brainstormed on ideas during a class and came up with some sketches. I was too late in finalising and digitising any design and couldnt submit them as entries.

Following are 2 of the designs that I finalised.
Method : Photograph -> Photoshop -> Tracing via pen tool -> stroke paths by brush.

The design tries to justify the meaning of a theater festival. I had some other variants of the design, which I will update a little later. Enjoy!

EDIT :
I forgot about the post altogether. But since I had promised other variants, I will honour it and post them, even if that means working more to finish them :P
I was really interested to create vector based designs. The simulated brush pressure and the stroke like a calligraphy pen is to die for. Plus you can very easily change the design later on.

This design somehow feels very young, joyous and has a flair. My personal favourite.

Logo Designing - Vipul Chaudhary

This design is meant to look like an arrow lodged into the Bull's Eye. Didn't succeed very well.
I had this design in my mind for a long time now. Inspired from the line art by Vikrant, I finally made something.

Tools : Adobe Photoshop CS5 -> Pen tool -> Stroke/Fill
Method : Sketch on paper -> Scan & Import -> Trace

TheatreFest 2011-12 Designs

I had a really great experience designing the TheatreFest 2011-12's creatives. Working with Ayush Jain, getting involved in dramatics club, learning about plays, how the decision of inviting them is made. I got to know the names of some great theatre personalities and also meet some of them.
Really wow.
Some of the below designs are very close to the heart. These have been designed with help of Saloni Mehta and I dont take full credit.

Designs Dated around September 2011.

At that point in time I was into using simple text based logos. And they turned out pretty well.
Above are some font/logo options for THEATERFEST. We finalised the second one

Flex : 3 feet X 2 feet
I wanted to give the feel of a theater stage in the top right. The two faces are not to my liking but had to be added ..


And this.. This is the final design for a huge flex 9 feet X 6 feet

There were a lot more designs, some for tshirts, invites, publicity posters. Will add them someday..

Logo Designing - Aagomani

Aagomani is Electrical Engg. dept's 'fest'. Its more like a lecture series with the topics concentrated around the year's theme. This time around it was "The World of Wireless" and I got the chance to design a banner for the website.
Though I complied with the banner, I added upon it my own logo for Aagomani, and guess what, it became official and got used everywhere.

Though there was one problem, I had just made it up for the site, so the resolution was poor. At that time I didnt know how to improve it and nobody asked me to do it, so I just kept quite ;).




(I know 1st and 2nd are very similar, but from the point of view of tastes, those belong to two totally different class of people)


I like the 3rd banner most. But pity, it didnt go with the rest of the designing of the site so had to be 'khachhed', the 2nd banner won eventually..

Logo Designing - Science Club

Tried to create some logos for the science club.

Basic idea I started with was to show that it consisted of 6 different clubs working together synchronously under the banner of Science Club. I stumbled upon such a symbol which depicts science, the club's 6 parts and the bond between them, an atom with 6 electrons..

I tried a lot of variants of how I can use it and what colour scheme to be used to further depict the depth of Science Club.
1. I then chose upon black background to show the unending depth of the field.
2. The foreground colour was mostly more of a designing choice.
3. The font, I didnt want to use techy, but curvy to go in harmony with the oval orbits and round electrons.





I suppose after whole 1 and half month of reluctance we finally decided to give the last one a 'go'..
But the logo is not final and still under the scanner of the new OCs.. But lets hope it gets bettered somehow.

PS - Though just for the record.. I like the first one the best.. Plain, Simple and easy-on-eyes colours...
